COURSE OUTLINE
1) Course Description: Curriculum of Dhamma Studies for Secondary Level
The course takes a look at the Dhamma as taught by the Buddha. As we know, his example serves as the model for Buddhists and many others to emulate – sources from around the Tipitaka were borrowed and presented. This course contains several teachings that are highly valued for any seeker or learner of Dhamma: the Four Noble Truths, the Four Assemblies Companies, Four Kinds of Persons, and an array of Buddhist Proverbs. As we learn in depth, the teachings can be used and beneficial for your life.

2) Course Objective:
1. Introduce Kradudhamma subject, which involve with Buddhist Proverbs. We will be learning the Proverbs and writing essay at the same time. The format of the essay will be shown to meet the standard of the Royal Dhamma Studies.
2. Introduce Dhamma subject, which involve with Duka, Tika, Catukka, Pancaka, Chakka, Sattada, Atthaka, Navaka, Dasaka, and Kamma. The different categories of Dhamma will give you an idea of the Lord Buddha’s efforts of how to achieve enlightenment.
3. Introduce History of the Buddha subject, that corresponds to the stories of Ven. Annakondanna, Ven. Uruvelkassapathera, Ven. Sariputtrathera, Ven.Moggallanathera, Ven. Mahakassapathera, Ven. Mahakaccayanathera, Ven. Mogharajathera, Ven. Radhathera, Ven. Punnamantanithera, Ven. Kaludayithera, Ven. Rahulathera, Ven. Upalithera, Ven. Bhaddiyathera, Ven. Anuruddhathera, Ven. Anondathera, Ven. Sonakolivisathera, Ven. Radapalathera, Ven.Pinasolabharadavajathera, Ven.Mahapanthakathera, Ven. Culapanthakathera, Ven. Sonakutikannathera, Ven. Lakunatakabhaddiyathera, Ven. Subhutithera, Ven. Kankharevatathera, Ven. Kondadhanathera, Ven.Vangisathera, Ven. Pilindavacchathera, Ven. Kumarakassapathera, Ven.Mahakotathitathera, Ven.Sobhitathera, Ven.Nandakathera, Ven. Learning the stories of all these Venerable will give you the opportunity to see the teachings of the Lord Buddha in a practical aspect.
4. Introduce Vinaya subject, which we will mention about Triple Gem, Three Uposathasita, Uposatha observance to compress defilement, There are Eight Sikkhapadas in the Uposatha Morality, Brief Eight Uposatha Precepts Description, How to Undertake the Uposatha Precepts, The Uposthasila has small and many fruits, Benefits of Uposathsila, How to Conduct for Lay-man and Lay-woman. The Vinaya or discipline is to make the students understand the principles of good actions for householders that can be practice in their daily lives.
3. Course Requirements:
1. Conduct the study of the Dhamma Teachings through the course textbook.
2. Complete the quizzes and essays during the lessons material provided in the
textbook.
3. Summaries will be given during 20 sessions of every Thursday 6 – 7 p.m.
4. Fee of 30 Pounds is required for the course.
5. Take the exam at the end of the term June 7.
